Letter to Domenic Gaggi regarding Resident Alien Weapon Permit
Letter from J. Healey, Inspector, on behalf of the Director of Criminal Investigation to Domenico Gaggi. The letter from September 25, 1944 is regarding a weapon's permit required for resident aliens while the Defence of Canada Regulations are in effect. Although Gaggi was a citizen (an naturalized British subject) by the start of World War II, he was designated as an enemy alien along with his wife Yolanda. Gaggi received a number of letters from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) during the war regarding permits specifically designated for aliens possessing hunting guns.
