The original caption reads: Some of the hundreds of demonstrators who gathered in front of the Italian Consulate here to protest against Italian intervention in Spain are shown as they raised their arms in the clenched fist salute. The demonstration, sponsored by the League for Peace and Democracy, was broken up by police and several of the ringleaders were arrested.
