Calgary Italian Boy's band in Stampede parade, Calgary, AB
Black and white photograph showing John J. Pompilio's band marching a parade during the Calgary Stampede. Pompilio was an Italian immigrant and musician. He is most likely the gentleman at the right foreground of the image in white pants, a jacket and a hat leading his band. In addition to his band Pompilio also provide private music lessons to those in Calgary. His band members march behind him carrying their instruments, while on-lookers line the streets and watch the parade go by. Two of the men in the photograph have been identified as Louis Violini, who is third from left in the first row and Natale Violini playing tuba. The band broke up soon after this photograph was taken.
