[VILLA CHARITIES NEWSLETTER SUMMER 2010: Columbus Centre receives CHRP grant for internment project]

The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, recently approved Columbus Centre’s proposal to the Community Historical Recognition Program, Citizenship and Multiculturalism Canada to commemorate and educate about the internments that occurred in 1940.

A comprehensive inventory of relevant print, audio, visual and electronic resources will be collected and catalogued. In addition, personal memories of the period will be preserved as a resource database of video/oral histories.
